Drawing inspiration from some of the literary geniuses and making an imaginative scape from the mental impressions conjured from their words Collider have a penchant for crossing boundaries and are preparing an early Christmas present for the folk of Melbourne.

Led by Kynan Robinson (trombone) and Adam Simmons (tenor saxophone), these two are multi-disciplinary artists and composers for various acclaimed ensembles – Adam Simmons Toy Band, Origami, Escalators, EnRusk, Des Peres – and have found motivation in literary greats from very different worlds.

Kynan has composed with the brilliant Cormac McCarthy in mind, whose writing creates an atmosphere of sparseness, detachment and tension. Adam’s muse is a little kookier as he is drawing from everyone’s favourite doctor – Dr Seuss.
