The Fraud, or The Rise and Fall of A to Z – Play Reading
A live reading and one-night-only first airing of a new play from award winning playwright Sofia Chapman.
Pop art, desperation and idealisation.
An art student leaves his wife in pursuit of a muse, whom he idealises through religious imagery. He becomes obsessed with the muse, conceiving of a ‘Mona Lisa’ series. When she goes missing the artist’s mental state unravels as he doesn’t know whether he has killed her.
The play reading will be followed by an audience response and discussion facilitated by dramaturg Angela Costi.
