Revelation Hero 700

Ada’s world has become quite strange…nothing seems the same. Once familiar objects shift, time bends and angels sing. This is a journey with no beginning, moving towards an unseen end, oddly familiar with surprises along the way.

Black Hole Theatre is known for its track record of creating original exciting cross-disciplinary performance around often dark and challenging subjects. With Alison Richards’ extraordinary Book of Revelations, we leap into the unknown, following a mind facing uncharted realms of altered perception, stirred by dementia and other mental illness. Directed by Nancy Black, some of Melbourne’s leading talents combine sound, visuals and performance to create a startling world full of wonder, terror – and joy.

Part contemporary opera, part art installation where cutting edge technology meets visual theatre, The Book of Revelations marks a new approach to immersive performance. Each audience member will have their own unique experience; the everyday may never be quite the same again.

Time warps in Ada’s world, and so the performances are looped.  To see the complete show arrive before 8.30pm.
Duration: 50 minutes.
Note: the preview on Wednesday 19 July, and the fundraiser on Saturday 22 July are not looped.  Please arrive by 7:30 to experience these shows.

Please note: Q & A sessions will follow performances on Sunday 23 July and Friday 28 July.
