Recipient of The R E Ross Trust Playwrights’ Script Development Award 2009, Rhonda Is In Therapy by Bridgette Burton is a new Australian work that explores the themes of loss and grief. After an unimaginable accident, Rhonda takes flight from reality and seeks refuge in a delusional world – searching for emotional and physical relief. The powerful and explicit text, finely balanced with an edge of humour, mines the depths of Rhonda’s imagined world and the relationships with her husband, daughter and lover.
Rhonda Is In Therapy is produced and presented by Hoy Polloy Theatre Productions and Baggage Productions. The premiere of this production is also supported by the City of Melbourne through the Arts Grants Program, fortyfivedownstairs, Yarra Trams, Starling Communications, Millimetre, Fred Kroh Photographer the Finkel Foundation, Press Print, BJ Ball Papers, Phunktional Arts and private supporters.
