A group exhibition of painting, photography and installation. The artists come from different backgrounds and employ diverse mediums, yet their works and practices repeatedly interconnect.
Billinge paints with oils and inks on paper and timber; Chandler’s oils on canvas are often composed from an autobiographical perspective; Gofton’s work explores the maternal bond and the fragility of that connection; and Nelson’s practice sees her examine identity of self and society predominately with photography.
Although these women have seemingly contrasting practices, they are all mothers to young children and their work is unified by the presence of time. This is the first time they have exhibited together.
