Meeting at 11.00am we will embark at a leisurely pace through the city’s inner East, stopping at significant sites for James’ paintings along the way – taking in lush gardens, bustling streets and hidden lane ways.
Finding ourselves conveniently at James’ Fitzroy studio by lunchtime, a delicious spread will be provided before catching the 86 tram to the city for a viewing of the exhibition in full.
Here’s what art walkers had to say about the experience:
‘I enjoyed the walk very much. I was interested in what James had to say about the context of his paintings and how he saw the work in relation to Melbourne’s history. The lunch was great as well!’ – Penelope
‘It was a fabulous day and definitely exceeded any expectations I may have had. I enjoyed all of it immensely but if I had to select one aspect it would be the studio, where we got to view all the work in progress… It was fascinating and well worth the stair climb.’ – Anne
