Janice Gobey

As part of Janice Gobey’s exhibition The Invisible she will hold an artist talk to discuss the influences and inspiration for her work, her trip to Beelitz and will answer any questions about the work. Abraham (Abe Ape) Nouk will read 4 poems from the book published as part of the exhibition.

Abe is the founder and director of Creative Rebellion Youth.  He’s a spoken-word poet, hip-hop fanatic, MC and an author whose craft developed from the realisation of the freedom of speech.  Nine years ago, Sudanese-born Abe was illiterate when he and his family arrived in Australia under the high commission refugee status.  Since then, he has become an Australian Citizen and is motivated by the empowerment of words.

This event is part of Melbourne Fringe Festival.
