Life is a journey of endless possibilities, Then, Now and Everything in Between engages in a dialogue with the artists’ ongoing exploration into memory and conversation.
Robert Lee Davis’s sensitive cinematic paintings are reminiscent of early colonial coastal cartographic surveys. Working across painting and collage he combines formal painting techniques with newsprint and images from journals and magazines. Each painting is an immersive recreation of global landscapes and structures. Influenced by stories and conversation, Davis presents a suite of deeply personal works tracking his journey across three continents.
Davis invites visitors to engage with his art-making process by setting up his studio in the gallery space and create new works in-situ while interacting with visitors.
